In a perspective of broader inclusion and participation, the G20 decision-making process has been enriched, over the years, with the involvement of “social actors”, who regularly meet as “G20 Engagement Groups”.
These groups address many areas of key relevance for the work of the G20, particularly topics related to entrepreneurship, labour, youth, women’s empowerment, urban policies, sustainable development and the fight against inequalities. They are also engaged in promoting the activities of think-tanks, universities, social and natural sciences.
These Engagement Groups are autonomous and work independently from governments. They submit formal recommendations to the G20 Presidency before each Summit.
